This KoAloha is a satin finished tenor made from Acacia. This is from the same family of trees as Koa, but since the tree was grown somewhere other than Hawaii, it can’t be called Koa. These are made in Thailand in a factory that is monitored by the son of one of the founders of KoAloha, so make no mistake this is a KoAloha, just at a more affordable entry point for newer players.
